What Is GAPP?

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a Medicaid-funded program offered by the state of Georgia that allows medically fragile children to receive skilled nursing and personal care services in the comfort and safety of their homes rather than institutional settings. The program is intended for children under age 21 who qualify for Medicaid. Through the GAPP program, eligible services are covered by Medicaid, meaning families may access in-home care with NO out-of-pocket expenses — helping reduce financial stress while providing essential support.

The program is designed to:

  • Prevent unnecessary hospitalizations

  • Support children with complex medical needs at home

  • Reduce caregiver strain

  • Improve quality of life for families

Who Qualifies for GAPP?

Eligibility for the Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is determined through Medicaid and medical evaluation. In general, children must:

  • Be under 21 years of age

  • Be medically fragile or require ongoing medical supervision

  • Qualify for Medicaid in Georgia

  • Have physician authorization confirming medical necessity

The approval process includes documentation, assessment, and coordination with healthcare providers. Our team works closely with families to help simplify this process and ensure required information is submitted accurately and efficiently.

If you are unsure whether your child qualifies, we encourage you to contact us. We can help clarify next steps and guide you through the process.
